Stanton Peele, PhD., J.D., is a seminal researcher, writer, lecturer, and clinician in the field of addiction. Starting with his publication of Love an Addiction in 1975, Dr. Peele has pioneered the ideas that addiction isn't limited to drugs, of social-environmental causes and treatments for addiction, and of harm reduction as both a treatment option and policy innovation. Since his earlier work, Dr. Peele has published 12 books and over 250 professional and popular articles on addiction. He lectures worldwide about strategies for defeating addiction, as well as writing popular blogs for the Huffington Post and Psychology Today and appearing regularly on national TV programs on the Fox, MSNBC, and CBS networks. Finally, his Life Process approach to addiction, as embodied in his books, The Truth About Addiction and Recovery and 7 Tools to Beat Addiction, has revolutionized treatment for addiction.
