EDWARD ABRAMSON, PH.D.

Edward Abramson, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist, Professor of Emeritus at California State University, and former Director of the Eating Disorders Center at Chico Community Hospital. He is the author of numerous books including Weight, Diet and Body Image: What Every Therapist Needs to Know (PESI, 2016), Emotional Eating: What You Need to Know Before Starting Another Diet, (Jossey-Bass, 1998), Body Intelligence (McGraw-Hill, 2006) and It's NOT Just Baby Fat! (Bodega Books, 2011). Dr. Abramson has appeared on dozens of television and radio programs including 20/20, Hard Copy, and Joan Rivers. He is routinely quoted in publications including New York Times, Good Housekeeping, O, The Oprah Magazine, Washington Post, and US Weekly. Ed is a Fellow of the Obesity Society and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Psychological Association.
