Course Description:
After eight years of research and working with struggling students, Kathy Johnson has witnessed these students becoming successful after just months of an integrated approach to therapy. Although there is no silver bullet there are paths to success! If more of the same doesn’t work, it is time to find the path that does work.
In this ground-breaking seminar, professionals from many different perspectives come together to learn how their interventions integrate to remediate some of the more complicated dysfunctions seen in education today. The Pyramid of Potential approach starts the remediation with building blocks of mind and body health from nutrition and psychology, followed by brain development and sensory-motor development from occupational, physical, and vision therapy, which leads into cognitive skills training (memory, logic, processing speed, etc.) from educational therapy.
This program combines lecture and notes with discussion and hands-on exercises to facilitate every learning style. Participants will experience exercises and therapies that are discussed and are provided with extensive notes and resources for further exploration.

Objectives:
- Identify the common causes of Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia.
- Explain why an integrated approach works better than a single approach for improving reading, math, and writing delays. Explain how many professions, such as education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nutrition, psychology, and others, can work together to improve schooling for at least 20% of a school population.
- List the 4 underlying areas of brain development needed in order to have academic success.
- List at least 10 different ways to improve test scores of learning disabled students.
- Explain how the brain works and why each area of the integrated approach relies on the knowledge of how to create new connections.
- Create a systematic plan of interventions aimed at improving the functioning of a student with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia or Dysgraphia.
KATHY JOHNSON, MS ED
Kathy Johnson, MS, Ed, is considered a go-to resource on the topic of primitive reflex integration. She founded a specialized school in 2000, where she was an instructor and instrumental in remediating her students’ developmental and behavioral reflex therapy. In 2002, Kathy began an educational consulting business to screen and remediate students individually. She has given lectures and workshops to individuals and schools, been a guest on Internet talk radio shows, written several books and workbooks, recorded many DVDs, and developed a brain coach training program. In 2010, her book, The Roadmap from Learning Disabilities to Success was published. She continues to teach professional development workshops and to train brain-trainers around the world.
