Course Description:
Currently, it is estimated that one out of one hundred Americans has celiac disease, yet only 5% of them are diagnosed correctly. In this country, it takes an average of 6 to 11 years to get a proper diagnosis of celiac disease. Additionally, at least 10% of the population is dealing with gluten sensitivity. If left untreated, these gluten-related disorders can lead to over 300 associated signs and symptoms, many of which can be reversed and/or stopped.

We now know that these disorders can affect anyone, anywhere, at anytime. Unfortunately, at this point, the general public and healthcare professionals know little to nothing about gluten-related disorders. As a result, many people are living far below their health potential; some are putting up with chronic aliments and others are living with an incorrect diagnosis - becoming sicker by the day.

This program will give both health professionals and patients a greater understanding of how to recognize, diagnose, and treat gluten-related disorders.
Please refer to the course brochure for continuing education information.
Learner Objectives:

  1. Summarize how to recognize, diagnose, and treat gluten-related disorders.
  2. Summarize the signs, symptoms, and complications related to gluten-related disorders.
  3. Recognize ways to diagnose gluten-related disorders, such as specific testing methods.
  4. Define ways to manage a gluten-free diet: how to live a healthy gluten-free life.
  5. Discuss the increase in gluten-related disorders - why now?
  6. Review new pills and vaccine treatments, and world updates/research.
