WHITNEY LEWENDON, ESQ

Whitney M. Lewendon, Esquire, is a member of the New Haven law firm of Coan, Lewendon, Gulliver & Miltenberger, LLC. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Northeastern University Law School. His areas of practice include legal issues affecting the elderly and incapacitated: planning to meet the cost of long-term care, Medicaid eligibility, preserving decision-making, estate planning, and probate.

 

Mr. Lewendon is past chair of the Connecticut Bar Association Section for Elder Law and currently serves on the Section’s Executive Committee and the CBA Estates and Probates Section. He served on the CBA Probate Court Reform working group. Mr. Lewendon is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and has served on the Medicaid Strategies Task Force, the DRA Response team, and the Public Policy Committee.

 

Mr. Lewendon has received the NAELA President’s Recognition Award for his extraordinary contributions as a member of the Medicaid Strategies Task Force. He is the author of articles concerning Medicaid, including: An Uncertain Future for Medicaid and Long-term Care and Planning Tools for Financing Long-term Care. He has been featured in the “Elder Law” segment of the Connecticut Public Television series, “Seniors Living a Quality Life.” Mr. Lewendon has been selected as a Connecticut and  a New England “Super Lawyer” in the field of Elder Law by the publisher of Super Lawyers and Law and Politics.
