LIANE ZEITZ, JD, CELA

Lane Zeitz, J.D., CELA, is senior counsel at Pathway Law, with Offices in Belmont and Norwood, Massachusetts. She has over 30 years of practice concentrating in elder and disability law planning, Medicaid, nursing home issues, guardianship, conservatorship, probate and estate administration. She operated a solo practice in Dedham, MA, for over 17 years and prior to that worked in the elder law units of Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) and the Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts, Worcester (LACCM).

 

Ms. Zeitz is certified as an elder law attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation, the only national organization accredited by the American Bar Association to certify attorneys in elder law. Massachusetts does not recognize legal specialties for certification. She has been selected to the Massachusetts Super Attorneys list every year since 2013. She is a board member of the Massachusetts chapter of NAELA (MassNAELA), and a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Women’s Bar Association (WBA), the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) and the Norfolk County Bar Association. She served for several years as co-chair of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Annual Elder and Disability Law Conference, as counsel to the guardianship program of Jewish Family Services of Worcester, Inc., and as a volunteer trainer and mentor for the Elder Law Project of the Women’s Bar Association.

 

Ms. Zeitz participated in the Attorney General’s task forces on revision of the Massachusetts guardianship statute and revision of long term care consumer protection regulations. She was also the chief counsel for the Short v DPH case, litigation to enforce state compliance with Federal law granting nursing home residents a right to a fair hearing prior to transfer or discharge. Ms. Zeitz is a graduate of Wesleyan University, cum laude with Honors, and Boston University School of Law.
