JENNIFER HETTEMA, PH.D.
Jennifer Hettema, Ph.D., is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UNM. She is a clinical psychologist and conducts behavioral health research. Her research focuses on the development and evaluation of behavioral health interventions in primary care, meta-analysis, medical education, and implementation of effective interventions. She is particularly interested in interventions focused on risky alcohol use, prevention of alcohol exposed pregnancy, and HIV medication adherence. Dr. Hettema is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers and incorporates this treatment modality into much of her research.
