ALICIA DONEGAN

Alicia Donegan, is the healthcare choices coordinator at AgeOptions. As the Area Agency on Aging of suburban Cook County, AgeOptions advocates, plans, coordinates and funds services for older adults. AgeOptions, with a network of community-based senior service organizations, connects residents with vital services such as information and assistance, community dining programs and home-delivered meals, housekeeping help, and access to benefits and support for family caregivers.

Ms. Donegan coordinates the Make Medicare Work (MMW) Coalition, a collaboration to promote access to affordable health care options in Illinois. MMW is led by AgeOptions, Health & Disability Advocates and Progress Center for Independent Living. The collaboration provides materials, training and technical assistance to professionals serving older adults and people with disabilities to enable them to help their clients’ access health care and prescription drug services and supports. She also provides counseling to consumers on Medicare, public benefits, and prescription assistance programs as a certified senior health insurance program counselor.
