LISA M. PROCACCIO, JD

Lisa M. Procaccio, J.D., graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2012.  Attorney Procaccio recently joined the Office of Corporation Counsel for Milwaukee County.  She handles probate cases, including guardianship and involuntary commitments.  Prior to that, she joined the Milwaukee Trial Office of the Wisconsin State Public Defender.  There, she primarily handled misdemeanor and felony level criminal cases, as well as probation and extended supervision revocation cases.  In addition to the general crimes, she also represented clients that were deemed sexually violent persons during their civil commitments (also known as Chapter 980 cases).   She was a member of the immigration, homicide, and Chapter 980 practice groups.  While at Milwaukee Trial, she focused on drug addicted and mentally ill clients.  In 2015, she transferred to the Milwaukee Mental Health and Juvenile office.  Since that time, she has represented clients facing mental health commitments, clients being held on emergency detentions, clients that are the subject of a guardianship and/or protective placements, and parents in termination of parental rights cases.  She has presented on various topics for the annual state-wide public defender conference, to other offices within the agency, at the annual new attorney trainings, and taught at Marquette University Law School in trial advocacy and motion practice.
