JILL VARLEY, M.ED.

Jill Varley, M.Ed., has been a special educator for over 40 years. In 2014, she started her consulting firm specializing in autism and behavior disorders where she provides training and technical assistance to teachers, administrators and parents focusing on strategies to support students and families in the classroom and inclusive settings as well as in the home and employment settings. For over 27 years, Jill has worked as an autism specialist in Dallas ISD and at educational service centers in North and South Texas. She began her career as an early childhood teacher and went on to teach in self-contained classrooms for students with intellectual disabilities, autism and emotional disturbances. Jill continues to have a passion for supporting students, educators and families in finding evidenced based strategies to meet the needs of each individual student and their families.

 

Jill presents nationally on autism and behavior challenges for school district staff development, state agency conferences and parent groups. She received her Master of Science in Education degree in Emotionally Maladjusted/Learning Disabled at Drake University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Northern Iowa.
