Cynthia L. Webner, DNP, RN, CCNS, CCRN-CMC, CHFN, has over 35 years of critical care and cardiovascular experience in a wide variety of clinical practice settings. Twelve years of her career were dedicated to nursing management and Heart Center administration. She currently practices as a hospital-based Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist with a large medical cardiology practice.

Cindy leads the hospital’s cardiac care therapeutic hypothermia program. Cindy has a passion for both nursing practice and the cardiac patient. She believes knowledge transforms clinical practice. In addition to maintaining a part-time clinical practice, Cindy is also a co-owner of Key Choice and Cardiovascular Nursing Education Associates.

She collaborated on Cardiovascular Nursing Practice: A Comprehensive Nursing Resource Manual published by CNEA in 2007. Cindy’s presentations at regional and national venues are known for their high level of enthusiasm and humor used to deliver very high level content. Cindy will convince you that learning is indeed fun, and clinical practice is truly a joy.

Karen M. Marzlin, DNP, RN, CCNS, CCRN-CMC, CHFN, is an acute care Clinical Nurse Specialist practicing with medical cardiology patients in a 56-bed variable staffing CCU. Karen has been a nurse for over 26 years and has spent her entire career working with the cardiac patient. Karen also dedicated 10 years of her career to management and cardiovascular program administration. She has a passion for creating excellence at the bedside that is evident in her daily practice.

Karen, in addition to maintaining a part-time clinical practice, is a co-owner of Key Choice, a training and consulting business. She travels nationally and provides continuing education on a wide variety of cardiovascular and critical care topics as well as leadership/management consulting. Her presentations are enthusiastically delivered and offer practical tips that help everyone achieve excellence at the bedside. Linking knowledge to practice is the goal of every education program.

Carol Jacobson, RN, MN Related seminars and products


Carol Jacobson has over 40 years of experience as a critical care nurse and nurse educator. She has held positions as staff nurse and nurse manager in coronary care units and telemetry units, and as cardiology clinical nurse specialist and manager of invasive cardiology services. Carol is the owner of Quality Education Services, a nursing education and consulting business through which she offers a variety of cardiovascular educational programs for nurses. She also serves as affiliate faculty for the University of Washington School of Nursing.

Carol is a partner with Karen Marzlin and Cindy Webner in Cardiovascular Nursing Education Associates (CNEA) and is co-author of the book Cardiovascular Nursing Practice: a Comprehensive Resource Manual and Study Guide for Clinical Nurses, published by CNEA in 2007. She is a past recipient of the Excellence in Critical Care Education Award from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and received AACN s Flame of Excellence Award in 2012. Carol is known nationally for her humorous and common-sense approach to teaching difficult topics and making them understandable and is a frequently requested speaker at conferences across the country.
